"Thanks For The Riff" Art Notes Records AN104 Norberto Tamburrino piano featuring Francesco Mariella bass
“Thanks For The Riff” is the new album by Italian pianist, composer Norberto Tamburrino releasing by Art Notes Records.
An original collection including eleven tracks in which swing, originality and a certain use of classicism come out.
It’s the sixth release by Tamburrino, the third one released by Art Notes.
There are eight original compositions in this release and the artist gives particular attention to some Classical jazz tunes with deep lirism in “Estate” by Bruno Martino, the Ballad “Body & Soul” performed in a very personal version and, as well as Tamburrino did in his previous albums, a Thelonious Monk masterpiece is represented here.
On last tracks are in evidence two free improvisations (“2010 Itinerary”, “Free Impro”) that bring us to an original pianism with some Classic Aria walking through strong jazz dynamics.
It confirms one more time the great creative and productive power of Tamburrino, enriching his large collection.
Released by Art Notes Records on March 21,2011

an indipendent label producing creative artists in Jazz, Classic, Baroque & figurative Arts
